Environmental Issues

While accepted by 99% of qualified environmental scientists, the explanation that the earth is experiencing alarming rates of temperature increase and that the crisis is caused by human actions (mostly burning fossil fuels), is not accepted by everyone.  Companies that stand to loose business if the burning of fossil fuels is decreased, their lobbyists, and a small group of scientists (presumably paid by the companies) fight the climate change facts with loud and effective disinformation campaigns.  The present administration is actively working to dismantle regulations protecting our land, air, and water.

Like so many others, I’ve been energized by the bold moral leadership coming from newly elected members of Congress like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley in the face of the spiraling climate crisis and the outrageous attacks on unarmed migrants at the border. It has me thinking about the crucial difference between leadership that acts and leadership that talks about acting.

FL Conservation Lands At Risk

Amendment #1 made Conservation of Lands a priority in Florida and established a trust fund for it.

Please contact the two un-American politician/trouble makers legislators and demand they drop their appeal against following the ruling. You can remind them that they work for the voters of Florida.

Now is the time to flood the offices of Speaker Corcoran and Senate Pres. Negron to demand they carry out the will of Florida voters.
